Vineyards

The first two hectares (5 acres) of Malbec Cot were planted in 2017. Using split-canopy trellising, 2 meters (6,56 feet) between rows and 1,2 meters (3,93 feet) between plants, which allows 4.167 plants per hectare (1.687 plants per acre). Getting this  optimal sun exposure is essential for the nurture of the vineyard and the grape ripening process.
This planting density produces very high-quality grapes for premium wines. In 2018  1.5 hectares (3,7 acres) more were planted of Malbec, Bonarda, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Chardonnay.

Terroir & wine-growing conditions

There is no doubt about the potential of San Rafael for top-end wines. In the south province oasis loamy-sandy soil of alluvial origin, a dry climate and thermal amplitude conditions places it as one of the best locations in the world for this activity. 

Some of the internationally awarded wineries of San Rafael are Bianchi, Sutter, Goyenechea, Aldao Bombal, Jean Rivier, Burnett, and Finca el Nevado among others.

Winery

The winery will be located on the central lake and will have  approximately 1000 square meters (10800 square feet) to process the grapes produced in our community fincas.
The winery will have two underground floors in order to create ideal temperatures and to take advantage of gravity, avoiding the use of pumps and electricity as much as possible.
In the highest level with the lake views, a tasting room to enjoy and share the wines of the owners.

Our Ricardo Jurado Malbec 2018 was awarded a silver medal.

Vinalies Internationales – Every year, the Union of French Oenologists organizes one of the most prestigious competitions in the wine world. Over 5 days, the jury members, all experts in sensorial analysis, gather together each morning under the presidency of a French wine specialist, to blind taste wines from all four corners of the world.

In march the argentine wines won 11 gold and 16 silver medals exceeding previous editions and becoming the most awarded country in America and the southern hemisphere.
